Your Goals

Nov 21, 2018 | 6 comments

Knowing your goals is an important part of creating yourself as the product. In other words, what steps do you need to take to end up where you want to be? If you don’t have a destination in mind, you’ll just be wandering around trying to figure out why you do what you do.

Goals can be big or small and can have a large or small gap of time. For example, your goal could be like a New Years resolution, or it could be a 5 year goal. Whatever the goal may be, every single one can be achieved if the proper steps are taken. If you want to learn the piano, set a date, and make sure you hold yourself accountable. Take it step by step and eventually you will be playing a whole song. Whether or not you complete that goal is up to you, so work for it! You can totally do it!

Create a list to decide what are long term goals and what are short term goals. It may totally seem unrealistic and you may think that it’s useless to take time to write these goals out on paper. All I can say is trust the process. As you write your goals out, you realize things you didn’t notice before. It’s a great way to get in touch with yourself because it gives you a clear roadmap and the steps towards that goal.

The beautiful thing about goals is that they don’t even have to be realistic in this moment in time. As long as you stay true to yourself and put in the work then you’re in a great place. Everyone has dreams that they would love to be a reality and that’s why goals are so important. Put in the work and you will get there in a matter of time. “You ought to dream, all our biggest businessmen have been dreamers.” – Ernest Hemingway

Agree, having a vision about your career is imporatant, just like any business needs vision and mission too. Next step is set up short term goals to achive the big goal. Wish you all the best.

Love everything you had to say. “Trust the process” is a great way to remind ourselves to trust what we’re working on. Sometimes it can be frustrating because you feel like you see no results but you just have to trust and keep going. Results don’t happen overnight. Love the Hemingway quote. Stay motivated. Thanks for sharing.

As artists we always are striving for the end product without focusing on the process and/or journey to get there.
