New Year, New Goals
It’s crazy that it’s 2019 already! So much has happened in the past year that it’s hard to remember all the crazy opportunities. We should all be thankful for the journey the past 365 days brought us on, and expectant for the 365 days to come.
January is the time that everyone starts making resolutions that they most likely don’t stick with. We all put pressure on ourselves to complete difficult tasks that can never be completed in the first months of the year. Last year I tried something different, I set goals for myself in 2018 instead of resolutions. The difference is that goals can be short term or long term which means you aren’t defeated if they aren’t all completed.
For example, this year one of my goals is to live a healthier lifestyle. I’m cleaning up my diet, drinking more water and putting in more effort to stay fit. This goal is one that is stretched over time and wont be a 1 and done scenario. I’ll have to keep working at it until it becomes more of a lifestyle and less of a goal. Another one of my goals for 2019 is to stay more in touch with my artistry. I’ve felt a little distant lately and I haven’t made as much effort to put my creativity into practice, but that’s changing this year!
Setting goals for the new year is important to keep yourself moving forward. Resolutions are a good way to start the year off strong, but goals are the best way to stay strong all year round. I’d love to hear what goals you are setting for yourself in 2019! Let me know in the comments below, because maybe one of your goals will inspire those around you!
