4 Healthy Habits
As artists, we are in the business of performing, which means we want to look, sound and feel our best at all times. Keeping our bodies in a healthy condition is something we should all fight for! I’m all about healthy food, staying fit and natural skin care, so today I’m going to share some of my healthy habits with y’all!
1. Drink water!
I know this sounds so basic but it is definitely one of the most important things you can do for yourself. You’ve probably heard it a hundred times but you get to hear it again. Drink water!!! I’m someone who constantly forgets to drink water so I bought a glass that I drink first thing in the morning. I set it by my bed so that I see it when I wake up. Figure out the easiest way for you to remember and fight to keep the habit up.
2. Eat Veggies!
I know, I know, I love meat too. However, there is something to be said for a vegetable focused diet. Many studies have shown that rich foods like meat and dairy aren’t as nutritional for the body as plant based foods. Vegetables are full of vitamin A, vitamin C potassium, and dietary fiber. These are all very important for bodily health. Of course I’m not saying cut out all meat and dairy, I’m telling you to do your research and learn as much as you can about the food you put into your body.
I feel that a lot of people don’t realize how important it is to work out on a daily basis. I totally understand how hard it is to motivate yourself to do hard physical activity, because it can be hard for me! As a dancer it has been easier because I simply go to dance class and I’m working out at the same time. However, I’m not taking as many regular classes as I used to, so now I need to do my daily workouts to keep my body in shape. What I have started doing is working out right after breakfast. I make myself a protein shake, and then I get out the workout gear. This way I’m getting the hard work out of the way early, so it’s not in the back of my mind all day.
4. Last but not least, Skin Care!
Skin care is something that I have always been interested in. Personally I don’t like wearing makeup if I don’t have to, so I want to feel as comfortable as possible in my own skin. Recently I got into natural skin care and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I went onto Pinterest and I found recipes to make DIY a face cleanser and moisturizer. The reason I did this was because I was so tired of reading about all the nasty chemicals that are in normal beauty products. The thought of having that on my skin and in my body disgusted me, so I made my own! I encourage you to do your research on the products you use. You never know what may be in them.
